Stereotypes – Galicia

?? In the upcoming posts, I’ve decided to bring you closer to Spain. At the end of the post, I’ll share 2 Spanish jokes with you ?

?? Spain is divided into 17 autonomous communities. Each of them has its own characteristics (from history, language, to food). Myths circulate about the residents of these communities, and numerous jokes are told to highlight their differences.

??Today, I’m sharing jokes about Galicia (where the famous Santiago de Compostela is located). Stereotypically, the residents are considered not very intelligent. And the exception that confirms the rule is reportedly Amancio Ortega, the creator of the INDITEX group (which includes brands like ZARA, Bershka, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti).

?Why can’t Galicians dial 911? Because they can’t find the number 11 on the keypad.

?A Galician returns from a trip to Las Vegas, and his friend asks how it went. “Great,” he replies. “They have amazing gambling machines there. I put in a coin and won. I put in another coin and won again! In the end, I had to stop playing because I didn’t know what to do with so many cans of Coca-Cola.”

Funny, isn’t it?

??Next time, I’ll share some interesting facts about the creator of ZARA, and then we’ll have a laugh about other Spanish regions ?
